When it comes to protrusions, patterns, and holes, trypophobia is an irrational aversion. Many people suffer from phobias, and let’s face it: There’s a phobia for just about everything, and almost everyone is terrified of something that doesn’t actually harm them. We’ll take a look at some of the things that have frightened people with trypophobia in this article. If you’re one of those people, we’d advise against reading this.

Mold
Regardless of whether or not you’re afraid of mold, it’s hard not to be grossed out by it. In reality, it’s far worse if you do. Even though we don’t know what kind of mold we’re dealing with, our skin is crawling. For starters, it appears to be a health hazard and should be removed regardless of the disturbing visuals. Just throw it somewhere far and be done.
Have You Seen Eggs Like These?
We don’t know what kind of eggs these are, as the author of this post points out. To those with trypophobia, the fear of small, round or ovular eggs may seem strange, but this makes sense when you consider that insects lay a large number of very small ones.

Have You Seen Eggs Like These?
We truly sympathize with them if they’ve ever felt anxious, disturbed, or even disgusted by patterns that are readily apparent in our daily lives. We can’t say we’re envious of anyone who has to deal with that kind of life!
Completely Different Look Of Beans
Trypophobia isn’t the only thing that should cause your skin to crawl here. Regardless of how long they’ve been sitting there or what’s growing on or inside them, these beans are disgusting.

Completely Different Look Of Beans
Someone who suffers from a fear of mold should be on the lookout for places where it can grow and avoid leaving their beans in a situation where they could end up looking like this, you’d think.
Lotus
Even if you don’t have a fear of trypophobia, Lotus root has a spooky quality to it. We’re reminded of spiders because of it. Either the color or the massive holes are to blame. No matter how you slice it, it’s easy to see why this would cause anxiety in those who suffer from the ailment at hand.

Lotus
While it’s true that there is a smaller Lotus root within the larger one, that doesn’t make things easier. There are twice as many holes and a more complicated pattern, after all.
Weird Or Beautiful?
Honestly, we find these mushrooms to be quite interesting and unique. Almost as pretty as it gets. However, we don’t suffer from trypophobia, so we can understand why some people find these mushrooms repulsive or unnerving.

Weird Or Beautiful?
Just goes to show that there is no such thing as a universal. When one person sees something beautiful, another sees something disgusting, or the other way around. Yes, isn’t it fascinating how the human mind works?
Orange Or Mushrooms?
You’d be surprised at how foreign some things in our own world appear until you see them for yourself. It almost looks like a fictional fruit, but this beech orange mushroom can be found in the real world, despite its bizarre appearance.

Orange Or Mushrooms?
We’re sure that people with trypophobia would prefer to avoid these strange-looking ‘oranges’. To some extent, that’s what this article is about, too.
What’s Worse Than This?
If you don’t have trypophobia, the commute to work shouldn’t be too difficult, but if you get stuck behind certain vehicles, it might be. Let me show you this vehicle.

What’s Worse Than This?
We can see why so many people would be bothered by such a densely patterned setup with so many holes. Honestly, it’s unnerving to be stuck behind something like that, even if trucks are more secure than cars for the most part.
Toads
We’re sure the toad’s back pattern is there for a specific reason, but that doesn’t help those who suffer from trypophobia in the slightest at all. As a side note, the baby is actually born back there. Regardless, that’s what we’re concerned about.

Toads
Whatever the reason, the whole thing looks a little nastier and more disgusting than we’d like it to be. There is something unnerving about it, even if you don’t suffer from trypophobia.
Is It A Bread??
You’ll notice that bread has a lot of holes if you take a closer look. The holes are typically very small, but if you suffer from trypophobia, that may be more than enough to cause you anxiety. Do those who suffer from this fear of bread generally find it repulsive?

Is It A Bread??
For obvious reasons, we assume they would despise this Ethiopian Injera bread. There is no denying that this dish looks strange no matter how you feel, but it’s likely to be delicious.
There’s A Croc In The Ocean
It’s understandable why anyone would be disturbed by this image, since there’s a Croc in it. If you suffer from trypophobia, the seashell pattern will only serve to increase your apprehension.

There’s A Croc In The Ocean
Even without the seashell motif, wearing Crocs would be uncomfortable for someone with trypophobia because of the numerous holes in the shoes. Then again, it’s a slap in the face to the fashion industry.
A Strawberry?
Actually, we have no idea what we are looking at. Although we are fairly certain that strawberries aren’t like that, it somewhat resembles a strawberry. We don’t exactly consider ourselves experts, but we don’t believe they do.

A Strawberry?
It appears odd in some ways and might even be a little frightening to someone who has trypophobia. Would you be able to eat this or would you have to discard it? Can you remove those strange growths and still be okay?
Have You Seen Pigeon Feathers?
Although we aren’t avian animal experts, we think these feathers are a little strange. We are unable to explain why they appear this way, but it is probably a common occurrence. However, this intricately patterned feather ensemble would be uncomfortable if you suffer from trypophobia.

Have You Seen Pigeon Feathers?
The Worst Wasp Nest
Is trypophobia even necessary to be bothered by a wasp nest like this? Does anyone actually require an excuse to be alarmed by a wasp nest? In any case, they are terrifying. However, we suppose that if you did have trypophobia, the sight would make you feel even more uneasy.

The Worst Wasp Nest
We don’t know why the wasps constructed this particular nest. Evidently, building it out of Pyrex had something to do with it. It’s not something we would want to be near in any case.
It Should Be An Art
We had a difficult time relating to this story. We were skeptical at first because we didn’t think people like this guy existed in the real world. However, if you live long enough, we doubt you’ll be surprised by anything anymore.

It Should Be An Art
Think about it for a moment, and you’ll see what we mean. With so much of this going on in the world, it’s hard to imagine living with something like that.
Want More Sour Candy?
If you eat a ton of sour candy, you can presumably lose a layer of your tongue. What’s the matter? How? The pain or numbness you feel in your tongue before you reach this point shouldn’t be a surprise. Our experience with sour candy suggests that we would be able to taste the sourness long before a chunk of our tongue came off.

Want More Sour Candy?
How do you recover from something like that? Is it even possible to call it skin? We’re not sure what is happening, but trypophobia or not, it seems pretty disgusting.
Creepy Looking Skull
Things that frighten those with trypophobia are often just creepy in general, as you can see from this list so far. This skull, for example, has a layer of limestone covering it. You don’t have to have a fear of trypophobia to find it eerie.

Creepy Looking Skull
If you have this type of phobia, this would be a thousand times worse if you had that fear. In a way, it’s a bummer because this skull is kind of cool.
Odd Bubbles
This is a picture of an opened can, and that’s it. But, admittedly, there’s something odd about the way these bubbles are arranged in such a formation. We haven’t seen that happen in a long time, and it’s unusual.

Odd Bubbles
However, we believe that many people with trypophobia would simply look away from the can and ignore the bubbles, unless they decided to never drink anything carbonated in the first place.
What Kind Elephant Is This?
When it comes to this strange elephant with spider-eyed eyes, our most pressing question is: why? What was the purpose of its creation? Who came up with this? Despite the fact that this isn’t a bad design, we’re not sure why it was done this way.

What Kind Elephant Is This?
Pizza Dough
Pizza is a favorite of many people, but few are aware of how the final product will look before it is baked or served. Raw pizza dough, for example, has an odd appearance. Even a little uneasy. Check out what we found.

Pizza Dough
There’s something about this raw pizza dough that looks like it could be related to spiders. In a way, it looks like an egg or a nest. The next time you’re eating pizza, just try to forget about it. You’ll be doing yourself a favor by doing so.
Ticks And Eggs
Everyone hates ticks. In addition, as previously stated, insect eggs possess all of the necessary characteristics to frighten someone who suffers from trypophobia. So, imagine a large tick and a large number of eggs in this scenario. Ew!

Ticks And Eggs
There is a new study showing that ticks can lay a lot of eggs even if they haven’t had any food for a long period of time. Ticks are the worst, aren’t they? Trypophobia isn’t necessary to dislike them and their eggs.
Artisticcally Odd
If you don’t suffer from trypophobia, you’ll find this statue to be awe-inspiring. After all, it has a lot of holes and strange patterns. It’s something that many people find beautiful, but not everyone does.

Artisticcally Odd
Every person has a unique perspective on the world, and this is true regardless of what they are observing or experiencing. You can’t change it. It is important to remember that each person has their own unique perspective on the world and what bothers them.
Cute Or Creepy?
Though it’s strange to consider, if you suffer from trypophobia, even this picture of a dog scurrying through the snow may cause you to experience a rush of anxiety. Isn’t it strange that you’d have this reaction?

Cute Or Creepy?
Despite this, some people face this reality. However, it’s not as though the dog is the cause of their trypophobia. Even something as endearing as that can become a hindrance if your phobia becomes incapacitating.
Barnacles
All this is is a clogged pipe full of barnacles. Even if it’s merely uninteresting, it still has a terrifying appearance. There is no way we would put ours hands in that. It looks dangerous. Barnacles, on the other hand, are relatively harmless, at least in the sense that they won’t attack a human like a predator.

Barnacles
If you suffer from trypophobia, on the other hand, they can cause serious harm simply because of their appearance. Regardless of your age or background, this sight is unnerving, but it’s also fascinating.
Spaghetti Stuck In A Tree?
There are many destructive ways that lightning can interact with trees. Setting them on fire and slicing them in half is the most common way. There’s evidence to suggest that lightning has the ability to transform trees into spaghetti, or at least something that looks very much like it

Spaghetti Stuck In A Tree?
We have no idea how something like this happens, but we do know that it would be extremely upsetting to someone who suffers from trypophobia. After all, it’s a very bizarre pattern!
Why’d They Have To Build It That Way
From an architectural standpoint, this statue is stunning, and it also works well as a work of art. However, if you’re sensitive to holes in patterns, you may have a problem with it. After all, it has quite a bit of that in it.

Why’d They Have To Build It That Way
When confronted with objects like this, people who suffer from trypophobia may simply turn away. Alternatively, they may be able to look at it, but dislike the sensation it elicits in them. Both ways, it’s a shame.
All in One
Seashells are often viewed as very pretty, whimsical things. That feeling may not persist if you have trypophobia, depending on what type of seashell you’re looking at. For instance, this one probably wouldn’t sit very well with you.

Some people might say that a fear of something like this is silly, but remember, there’s also a fear of ducks, navels, and even fear of fear itself. So really, is any particular fear more silly than the other? We’ve all got things we’re scared of, or just don’t like.
The Mega Hive
When people envision a beehive, the image in their head is usually a small, ovular-type object hanging from a tree. We’ve all seen a cartoon or two with a beehive in it, and that’s usually what we imagine. But in the wild, bees can really go to town on their home.

Just look at this thing. It’s massive! Gargantuan even! We’re honestly surprised that this hive didn’t get so large that the bees split into new hives, which happens sometimes when the population gets too big. Either way, it’s definitely both unsettling and intriguing.
I Don’t Like Your Work, Bird
Birds and many other animals like to store nuts in holes. It’s a good way to keep them situated and lets the animal secure them so they can go look for other nuts. But, at the same time, such practices could create something pretty unsettling for those with trypophobia.

We suppose they could go out there and pull all the nuts out, but that would just be worse, no? Not to mention a pretty rude thing to do to that bird who’s just trying to live.
Freestyle Bees
If you keep your own bees, you usually use frames to dictate how the bees should build their hive. Without such frames, bees are likely to create something entirely different. If you don’t have trypophobia, maybe you’d like that. If you do, maybe not.

On one hand, this is pretty artistic and interesting, but at the same time, it’s a very unusual pattern that’s made up of a bunch of small holes, so anyone with trypophobia would probably hate it.
Good Question
We’ll admit that we aren’t very knowledgeable about sushi. We don’t know how to make it and certainly can’t say for certain whether or not it’s supposed to look like this. But even from a layman’s perspective, there’s something about it that looks wrong, isn’t there?

We’re not quite sure what it is, but if you had trypophobia, it would probably be pretty easy to place your finger on the thing that’s bothering you here. It’s pretty obvious, after all.
Return to Sender
Lots of things are used for packaging fragile objects, and honestly, we’re not sure if any of them would be liked by someone with trypophobia. Bubble wrap has holes and patterns. Styrofoam peanuts don’t need to be explained. And, of course, you have the cardboard packing material.

All in all, getting a package in the mail must be a mixed experience for a trypophobe. You get excited about the arrival of something you want, then get creeped out by the packing material. Mixed feelings at their finest.
No We Did Not
We aren’t in the business of running around and looking inside the mouths of animals, but really, it’s kind of odd how few people know what animal mouths really look like. Cows are actually a pretty common domestic animal, so why is this knowledge so rare?

More importantly, why do cows have mouths like this? We’re sure there’s a perfectly viable scientific explanation for it that makes sense, but we don’t know what that might be. Kind of creepy, one way or another.
Pepper Seeds
Have you ever looked at the inside of a pepper, and seen those weird clusters of seeds that they have? A trypophobe would probably not like those very much, for obvious reasons. Heck, they are kind of weird when you think about it.

It just goes to show — even small things can be a cause for concern or alarm when you have a certain phobia. Never knock what someone else feels if you can’t really understand it. A lot of feelings and fears really don’t make sense, but there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
Sandstone Aversion
Not all sandstone looks like this, but unfortunately for those with trypophobia, some of it does. And when it does, that probably rubs them the wrong way, as this particular individual stated. You know how it goes — too many holes in one place.

We do wonder, though, does just touching things like this trigger trypophobia as well? If you closed your eyes and touched it blindly, would it even bother you? We’re curious!
Troubling Beauty
Here we have another mushroom that trypophobes probably wouldn’t like. We’re not even sure if we like it. It’s kind of majestic and unique in a way, but at the same time, there’s something unsettling about it. We can’t really place our finger on it.

The real question is, would such a mushroom be safe to eat? Usually, things that are this flamboyant are not meant to be consumed, but you never know.
What in the World?
Have you ever stumbled onto something that you just couldn’t really identify? Well, here’s an example — if anyone knows what this thing is, we would actually be quite grateful. Needless to say, it strikes us as a pretty uncommon existence.

Of course, it’s also an existence that a trypophobe probably wouldn’t like. Can’t say that’s a surprise, considering how it looks. Seriously, what is this thing?
Even Pancakes
If you want to know how bad trypophobia really is, consider this — you can’t even enjoy pancakes! Or rather, you can’t enjoy looking at pancakes. Maybe if you blindfold yourself it wouldn’t be that much of a problem.

Still, the fact that you can’t even enjoy looking at a pancake is probably something most people would rather not have to deal with. Having trypophobia seems like it really sucks.
Seedless Sunflowers
Most of us know what a sunflower looks like, but few of us know what a sunflower looks like without its seeds. Well, know you can have that information. If it bothers you, you may have trypophobia. You know, just maybe.

The real thing is, who goes out of their way to pick seeds out of a sunflower? Or is that the actual process of getting a bag of sunflower seeds? We’re not actually sure if that’s the case. Either way, it seems like a grueling process.
The Wall Standing Tall
Most of us have encountered a wall or structure with a surface like this before. Some people may like it, while it’s obvious why a trypophobe would probably have an issue with it. Heck, touching those walls is unpleasant even without trypophobia.

After all, you can’t really rub your hands on them, unless you plan on scraping yourself along the way. We suppose some people might be into that, but we are not those people.
Why Indeed?
Considering the fact that we are not expert cooks, we can’t say with certainty why you would need tools with holes this big in them. Too let liquid drain when grabbing something that was sitting in it, we guess. But for a trypophobe, we imagine these don’t sit well with them.

That’s a shame, because strainers and stuff like that certainly have a lot of value in the kitchen, so having an issue with them probably isn’t very conducive to a good cooking experience.
WHYYYY?!
We can’t help but agree, stranger on the internet. Why on Earth would anyone feel the need to make a pretzel-shaped strawberry? Really, who would unleash such chaos and evil on the world? We just can’t fathom it.

We suppose if you like strawberries, this may actually seem like a perfectly viable thing to enjoy, but still, does it really have to be in the shape of a pretzel? We just can’t see any justification, other than wanting to watch the world burn.
Can’t Bear to Look
Flan is a weird dessert, honestly. It looks both appealing and unappetizing at the same time, and it’s hard to say why. Well, if you have trypophobia, it’s actually pretty easy to say why we suppose. Just look at it.

What even is a flan? It’s such a weird-looking dessert. Who named it that, and why? These are all questions that we feel are suitable to ask, though a quick search on the internet would probably answer most of them if you needed to have those answers.
Exhausting Exhaust
A lot of computers have something like this on them — usually, this is so it can vent heat and prevent things inside of the computer from getting too hot, which is kind of important. But if you have trypophobia, you probably wish this was all situated in the back where you couldn’t see it.

We’re not sure if stripes would actually be any better, honestly. Is there any sort of exhaust setup that wouldn’t bother a trypophobe? It’s really unclear.
We Feel That
Bread is pretty awesome. So, imagine if you had a phobia that stopped you from enjoying bread, at least in the sense that you wouldn’t be able to look at it without feeling a little icky. It must be terrible to feel that way about the bread of all things.

Maybe there are certain types of bread that don’t have as many holes or patterns or anything to worry about. It would probably be best for trypophobes to deal with that kind of bread instead.
A Child’s Imagination
There are times when the imagination of a child is a very beautiful thing. And then there are times when their imagination is kind of frightening. This drawing is our case in point.

We get that the kid was trying to depict something real (the holes his hair comes out of, we think?), but the exaggeration his mind put into it made the whole thing a lot more frightening and uncomfortable.
