There were 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, which aired 279 episodes in total. Leonard Sheldon Howard, Raj, and Penny, the three main characters, all got their big breaks on the program. From 2011 to 2014, the program received nominations for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. The cast members have all gone their separate lives since the end of the show, and this is where they are right now.
Since the very first episode, in which audiences were first introduced to the experimental physicist Leonard Hofstadter who shared an apartment with the eccentric Sheldon Cooper, Johnny Galecki has played the role of Hofstadter. It didn’t take long for him to develop feelings for their new neighbor, the stunning Penny.
Johnny Galecki – Now
It’s possible that audiences have been familiar with Johnny since the early 1990s when he was a regular on Roseanne. However, thanks to his role in The Big Bang Theory, he was presented to a new audience. As a result of his performance, he has been nominated for a number of awards, one of which is for a Primetime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Since 2014, he has been making $900,000 for each episode of future seasons that he films. Prior to 2014, he earned $1 million per episode, but he lowered that amount so that Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch could receive equal pay for their work.
Jim Parsons – Then
Since the very first episode of “The Big Bang Theory,” Sheldon has been winning over viewers with his social gaffes thanks to the comedic timing of his blunders. He is a theoretical physicist at CalTech, where he works alongside Leonard, and this is a field that he frequently considers to be more rewarding than Leonard’s experimental work.
Jim Parsons does a fantastic job of capturing Sheldon’s inflated sense of self-importance, which despite having earned him a Ph.D. at an unusually young age, prevents him from understanding the nuances of various social contexts. His friends continue to be by his side despite the fact that he does not adhere to social mores.
Jim Parsons – Now
Given his lackluster performance on the show, it can be challenging to believe that Sheldon ultimately served as Parson’s big break. As a result of his portrayal of Sheldon, he has gone on to garner numerous prestigious honors, including one Golden Globe and four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
In 2011, Parsons made his Broadway debut in A Normal Heart. As a result of his success, he and his co-stars now earn $900,000 per episode.
Sara Gilbert – Then
One more actress who began her career on Roseanne and later made an appearance on The Big Bang Theory is Sara Gilbert. The girls got to relive their on-screen romance when Leonard asked Leslie out in Season 1, worrying that a girl like Penny would never go out with him. They were playing Leslie Winkle, who is essentially the female version of Leonard.
But because Leslie and Sheldon frequently disagreed, the bond was difficult to keep up. Later, Leslie would also engage in sexual activity with Howard.
Sara Gilbert – Now
Sara hasn’t appeared on The Big Bang Theory for a while, but she is still best known for her years as Darlene Connor on Roseanne. She has agreed to reprise this role in the forthcoming revival, which was released in 2018.
In the new production, Sara will also work as an executive producer. In addition to co-hosting CBS’s The Talk, Sara is married to Linda Perry and has three kids together.
Mayim Bialik – Then
When the guys decided to create a dating profile for Sheldon, Mayin joined the cast of The Big Bang Theory at the end of season 3. Sheldon benefited from her occasionally shaky grasp of social situations because their expectations and experiences in relationships were more similar.
Amy holds a degree in neurobiology, a profession that actress Mayaim Bialik actually holds. Amy and Sheldon’s romance has gradually developed over the course of the show’s seasons.
Mayim Bialik – Now
Prior to The Big Bang Theory, Mayim was best known for her role as Blossom from the television series of the same name. She has been acting since she was 12 years old.
Mayim is the only cast member who both holds a Ph.D. outside of the show and in it, allowing her to bring her scientific knowledge to her role. She is also very outspoken about both her veganism and her religious observance of Judaism.
Simon Helberg – Then
Even though Sheldon frequently disapproves of Howard because he “only” has a Master’s in engineering from MIT, Howard inevitably manages to use his skills to join NASA as an astronaut.
That all changed when Penny introduced him to her colleague Bernadette in season 3, who was working at the Cheesecake Factory in order to pay for graduate school. During the early seasons, Howard was frequently attempting and failing to score a date with a variety of different women.
Simon Helberg – Now
Another member of the original characters who have been with The Big Bang Theory since the beginning is Simon. When he first appeared, he was portrayed as the nerdy mama’s boy who remained under his controlling mother’s control.
In addition to his work on The Big Bang Theory, Simon has recently managed to fit in a number of film roles. One of these roles was as the pianist Cosme McMoon in Florence Foster Jenkins, which also featured Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.
Laura Spencer – Then
In the seventh season of the show, Laura Spencer plays the mildly morbid dermatologist that Raj meets through online dating. Emily is unfazed as she becomes involved in a love triangle with Raj and Lucy, another woman he is seeing.
Together, they enjoy watching scary movies, and she keeps Raj amused by telling him gory jokes. They eventually start dating seriously, but Raj discovers in the end that he is still having trouble committing.
Laura Spencer – Now
Raj wasn’t the only person doing double duty; Laura Spencer also played Jessica Warren in the recently finished Bones. Raj previously broke up with Laura again.
It’s uncertain if Laura will play Emily again anytime soon, but she doesn’t seem to have ruled it out either. Laura, who recently played the part of Christine in the short film Vitality, has been busy.
Kunal Nayyar – Then
Raj is the last member of the original geek squad to have been a part of the program from the beginning. Raj is the astrophysicist who lives closest to Howard and is from New Delhi.
Raj would become speechless whenever a woman was nearby in the early seasons of the show due to severe social anxiety, a problem he discovered would go away when he drank. He was able to overcome his crippling anxiety eventually.
Kunal Nayyar – Now
Kunal is well-known for his work on The Big Bang Theory, much like his co-stars. Kunal has had more engaging storylines to portray on the show as his character Raj has grown.
He now commands a salary of $750,000 per episode for the current season, along with Simon Helberg. In addition to his work on The Big Bang Theory, Kunal recently played Tony in the film Dr. Cabbie. In Trolls, he performed some voiceover work as Guy Diamond.
Kevin Sussman – Then
The second season of the program featured Kevin Sussman as Stuart, the proprietor of a Pasadena comic book shop that the guys frequent. Stuart occasionally appears during their misadventures even though he isn’t a core member of the group.
Stuart, however, struggles to fit in even more than the other members do. Stuart is known for his frequently depressing demeanor, which is typically the result of some sort of misfortune.
Kevin Sussman – Now
Before beginning The Big Bang Theory, Kevin had a lengthy career as a worker. His previous roles included appearances on Ugly Betty and participation in the 2001 Steven Spielberg film A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
In contrast to the impoverished existence, he portrays at Stuart, Kevin’s real life is not exactly the same. Sussman continued to play Steve in the Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp in 2015 along with his regular work on The Big Bang Theory.
Carol Ann Susi – Then
Even though we never saw Howard Wolowitz’s mother Debbie in person, the descriptions the characters gave of her over the course of the seasons only served to highlight how absurd her off-screen remarks were.
She was described as the stereotypical Jewish mother who had to have been born and raised in the middle of New York City and who smothered her son to show her love for him. Howard was so reliant on his mother that, up until he wed Bernadette, he even resided there.
Carol Ann Susi – Now
Carol Ann Susi, 62, tragically lost her battle with lung cancer in 2014. Debbie Wolowitz was an adored and essential character in The Big Bang Theory over the years, despite the fact that she was never seen on screen.
By having the character also pass away, the show honored her memory while allowing the actors to express their very real grief through their performances. “Mrs. Wolowitz, every time you spoke, we laughed,” the producers wrote on the vanity card after she passed away. You will always be in our hearts.
Aarti Mann – Then
Beginning with the fourth season, the gang was introduced to Priya, Raj’s younger sister who is also a law student. She and Leonard fell in love and attempted to keep it a secret from Raj, but he eventually found out.
Regrettably, Priya was still envious of Penny and advised Leonard that she had not been removed from his life. In the end, it didn’t matter because Priya’s parents forced her to return to India after they learned of their relationship with Raj.
Aarti Mann – Now

She recently appeared as Holly Harner on Grey’s Anatomy, and she recently wrapped up filming. One, Sharon 1.2.3, was released in 2018, and the other, Love Sonia, came out also that same year.
Sara Rue – Then
Stephanie was just another woman Howard was attempting to make a move on when she was first introduced. She is a sassy surgical resident at Fremont Memorial Hospital and is more interested in Leonard than Howard.
Leonard and Stephanie start dating seriously despite Howard’s initial displeasure until Leonard notices that Stephanie has largely moved into his room a little bit. Leonard sends her a text message to break up their relationship.
Sara Rue – Now
Since she and Leonard split up in 2008, Sara hasn’t appeared on The Big Bang Theory, but she has continued to work steadily in the industry ever since. Between 2010 and 2013, she played Brenda on Rules of Engagement for three years.
After that, she appeared as Candace for a while on Mom. Sara portrayed Karen Delfs on Bones from 2015 to 2017, and the show recently came to an end. She will play the Librarian in several episodes of the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events next year.
Margo Harshman – Then
As a doctoral student assigned to Sheldon as a research assistant, Alex is first introduced. However, Sheldon frequently assigned Alex busy work rather than letting her actually assist him.
When he brings her back to the group with him, she starts to show signs of a crush on Leonard, which Penny notices but Leonard ignores. She eventually makes an attempt to ask Leonard out, but he stays true to Penny and rejects her.
Margo Harshman – Now
Margo Harshman did play Tawny Dean, Louis Stevens’ friend, on the Disney Channel series Even Stevens before she joined the cast of The Big Bang Theory. Since she finished her arc on The Big Bang Theory, Margo has consistently been at work.
John Ross Bowie – Then
Barry Kripke made a name for himself right away as one of Sheldon’s many enemies after making his debut in season two. Even though he studies plasma and string theory and is a rival physicist to the group, Barry is still adored for his witty one-liners that are always accompanied by his speech impediment that makes it difficult for him to pronounce his r’s properly.
Since the character first appeared on television, John Ross Bowie has taken on the role of Barry in every season since then.
John Ross Bowie – Now
Long before he started on The Big Bang Theory, John Ross Bowie had a long and successful career in film. Prior to transitioning into film acting, Bowie worked for years in comedy as a writer and performer.
In addition to The Big Bang Theory, Bowie has continued to work on a number of other acting projects. He recently started playing Jimmy DiMeo’s father in the film Speechless.
Wil Wheaton – Then
Wil Wheaton was the ideal choice to portray an extreme version of himself on The Big Bang Theory because he was the child star of Star Trek. When he turned out to be less than kind and disappointed Sheldon to the point where he became yet another of Sheldon’s enemies, at least for a while, his entrance as a celebrity Sheldon had been dying to meet was played perfectly.
It’s not always simple to be Sheldon’s friend, despite the fact that the two now appear to have put their differences behind them.
Wil Wheaton – Now
Wil Wheaton, also known as Richard William Wheaton III, started acting when he was a young child and was cast in the movie Stand by Me. He had a lengthy run as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation as a follow-up to the part.

Laurie Metcalf – Then
According to the plot of the show, Laurie Metcalf, who is also a graduate of Roseanne, plays Mary Cooper, who is almost the complete opposite of her brilliant son Sheldon. Mary is a devout Christian whose beliefs frequently run counter to Sheldon’s.
Nevertheless, she is a loving mother who always comes to Sheldon’s aid when he needs it the most, usually after being informed by a worried Leonard. Since Mrs. Cooper’s creation, Metcalf has played the role.

Along with several other film roles, she also provided the voice of Andy’s mother in all three Toy Story films. The most recent award Laurie received was a Tony this past spring for her performance on Broadway.
Christine Baranski – Then
Since she was hired to play Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, Leonard’s psychiatrist mother, on The Big Bang Theory in 2009, the incomparable Christine Baranski has been a regular on the show. Beverly and Leonard don’t exactly get along because Beverly frequently views Leonard as a psychiatric test before she sees him as a son.
She frequently humiliated him by using him as a parenting experiment, and he has spent his entire life trying to win her approval.
Christine Baranski – Now
It may be because Christine attended the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City that you are as consistently impressed by her outstanding performances as you are by the cold Beverly. Baranski has a remarkable range as an actress, both on stage and in films, despite her success as the tough psychiatrist on The Big Bang Theory.
She has acted in a number of musicals, including the Chicago and Mama Mia! movies. She recently finished filming The Good Wife and will appear in its sequel.
Brian George – Then
Dr. V.M. Koothrappali, Raj’s hilarious father, has been played by Brian George since the show’s first season. As Raj’s parents continue to reside and work in New Delhi, they are frequently only seen via video chat and almost always together.
In a season eight episode, we finally get to meet the senior Dr. Koothrappali, a respected gynecologist rather than a Ph.D. For the past few seasons, George has made a single appearance.

They started dating in season six, but things were rocky at first because Lucy wanted the relationship to develop more gradually than it did.
Kate Micucci – Now
Prior to being hired for The Big Bang Theory, Kate had appeared in episodes of Scrubs, ‘Til Death, and Motorcity as an actress. She has also lent her voice to numerous animated films and television programs, including Clayface in The Lego Batman Movie.
Garfunkle and Oates, a musical comedy duo, also includes Micucci as one half. She has recently been providing Sara Murphy’s voiceover in Milo Murphy’s Law.
Kaley Cuoco – Then
The only girl who has been a part of The Big Bang Theory since the 2007 pilot episode is Penny. a stunning, aspirant actress who supported herself by working at The Cheesecake Factory. She quickly caught Leonard’s attention, but he never expected her to reciprocate.
To his surprise, Penny started feeling the same way about Leonard, and in the ninth season, they eloped in Vegas after encountering a number of difficulties.
Kaley Cuoco – Now
In the sitcom 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, Kaley Cuoco made her acting debut as a teen when she was chosen to play Bridget Hennessy, John Ritter’s daughter. Kaley is one of the highest-paid female actors in television right now, but Sofia Vergara still takes the top spot on the list.

Melissa Rauch – Then

Melissa Rauch – Now
While she was pursuing her acting studies at Marymount College, Melissa Rauch convinced her to begin performing stand-up comedy in New York City. Although she had a lucrative solo show in New York City, her breakthrough role was on The Big Bang Theory.
